Staying connected and making new connections through Youthrive Victoria Alumni
Alumni members have all participated in one of more Youthrive Victoria programs. Over 170 people attended Alumni events in 2018. Alumni members contribute hundreds of volunteer hours to Youthrive Victoria every year and they are crucial members of the Youthrive Victoria team.
In 2016, the official Alumni group was launched, with the aim of fostering the friendships and networks that were forged during the participants’ initial interactions with the foundation. Our scholars and former program participants stay in touch using private Facebook groups and the Alumni Facebook page has over 300 members.
The Alumni Committee has set itself a number of goals, focused on growing the Alumni’s profile, and ensuring its ongoing sustainability.
The Alumni connects people through great social activities across the state and generates opportunities through the Ideas Incubator, which is the place where good ideas go to be developed. Dream Seeds® was the first program to be created from an Alumni idea.
Leadership development opportunities are provided to the Alumni such as training to be a coach on the Young Rural Leaders program and Dream Seeds®, along with Youth Mental Health First Aid training. All coaching on our programs is conducted by trained Youthrive Victoria Alumni.
Alumni are invited to participate in a range of skill and network building activities such as Think Tank, Impact Day, meetings with donors and board meetings.
