Fletcher has excelled academically and in leadership roles, serving as the 2024 School Captain and Tanaranga House Captain. His impressive list of achievements includes multiple recognition awards in humanities, mathematics, and technology, as well as sporting championships in cross country and swimming.
In 2023, he was honoured as the Ampol Male Best All-Rounder and received the Senior Level Trade Award. Fletcher’s commitment to leadership development was further demonstrated through his participation in the 2024 Rotary Youth Leadership Awards Seminar.
In 2025, Fletcher will begin a Bachelor of Sports, Physical and Outdoor Education at Federation University with the goal of returning to a regional community where he can make a meaningful impact. His passion for helping others, particularly in small rural towns, reflects his belief in the power of strong communities and the importance of supporting those in need.

Isabella’s contributions extend beyond her school, as she has been a City of Ballarat Youth Awards nominee for Leadership, a Greater Western Victoria Rebels Community Person Award recipient, and a Victorian Coates AFLW Talent League Community Person nominee. She has also been recognised for her academic excellence, earning Year Level Dux in English, The Arts, and Humanities, as well as multiple Loreto Sports Commitment Awards.
An accomplished athlete, Isabella is a Greater Western Victoria Rebels Coates League team member and has represented Loreto in BAS Athletics, Cross Country Running, and Netball Championship Tournaments. She also captained the Loreto Respect Cup Team, earning Best on Ground honours.
Isabella’s future aspirations lie in healthcare, where she aims to improve access to quality healthcare in rural and regional Victoria. She will be studying a Bachelor of Occupational Therapy in 2025.
Her leadership and volunteering efforts continue through her work as an Auskick Coach at Newlyn Football Netball Club, where she inspires young players, particularly girls, to engage in sports. She also hopes to contribute to club planning, fundraising, and community engagement.

Jaidyn is also a dedicated member of his local sporting community, playing football with the Dimboola Football and Netball League while also volunteering as a boundary umpire and water boy. His commitment to teamwork and community spirit is reflected in his support for local athletes and willingness to contribute beyond the field.
Jaidyn’s academic achievements include a Merit Certificate, the Australian Defence Force ‘Future Innovators’ Award, and early completion of VCE Psychology Units 3 & 4. In 2025, he will begin a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Psychological Studies at Victoria University, with a vision to return to the Wimmera region to improve access to legal and psychological services. His goal is to provide the same high-quality support found in metropolitan areas, ensuring that rural communities receive the justice and care they deserve.
With his deep-rooted connection to regional Victoria, Jaidyn aspires to open his own legal or psychology practice, giving back to the communities that have shaped him. His passion for justice, leadership, and service will undoubtedly make a lasting impact on rural and regional Victoria.

Khoa has been a driving force in youth advocacy, serving as Youth Mayor on his local youth council and as a Rural Youth Ambassador. Through these roles, he has led initiatives tackling climate change, public transport accessibility, and youth engagement. His efforts in organising Clean Up Australia Day events, facilitating climate discussions in schools, and advocating for better transport services have had a lasting impact on his community.
In 2024, Khoa was awarded Young Citizen of the Year in the Central Golfieds for his contributions to youth advocacy and community involvement.
Khoa’s passion for science and innovation is evident in his achievements, including winning the international Space for Planet Earth Challenge in 2024. He has also been awarded prestigious scholarships, including the Skyline, Kwon Lee Dow, and Freemasons scholarships, and has consistently demonstrated academic excellence, earning Dux of his year level multiple times.
Inspired by the disparities he observed during his regional school exchange, Khoa is passionate about closing the opportunity gap for regional students. He aspires to be a role model for young people in Maryborough, proving that they, too, can achieve great things. In 2025, he will begin a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and a Bachelor of Science at Monash University, with the goal of using his skills to innovate and inspire future generations.

Lea has been a leader throughout her schooling, serving as arts captain and house/sports captain. She has also been a dedicated advocate and fundraiser for Cystic Fibrosis Community Care (CFCC), a cause close to her heart. Since childhood, she has helped organise events such as crazy hair days and community fundraisers, raising thousands of dollars to support those with CF.
Her passion for science led her to be selected for the National Youth Science Forum (NYSF), a prestigious program where she explored cutting-edge STEM fields alongside Australia’s brightest young minds. She has received numerous academic and music awards, including the Val and John Stafford Violin Scholarship.
Outside of school, Lea plays piano, violin and viola, and is a highly accomplished athlete, achieving her 2nd Dan black belt in karate and becoming the youngest female coach at her club. She volunteers weekly, mentoring younger students and fostering confidence and discipline through the sport.
Lea’s firsthand experience navigating regional healthcare challenges has shaped her ambition to improve medical accessibility for people in regional areas. Having frequently travelled to Melbourne for Cystic Fibrosis treatment, she understands the barriers faced by rural communities and is determined to advocate for better healthcare solutions.
In 2025, she will begin a Bachelor of Biomedical Science (Medical) at La Trobe University, with a pathway to studying medicine at Melbourne University. Lea has a vision to contribute meaningfully to medical research and regional health equity.

Matilda has also worked as a babysitter and in a local hairdressing salon, deepening her understanding of the importance of community connections in small towns. Through these roles, she has formed strong relationships with people in her hometown and has come to appreciate the unique support networks that rural communities offer.
Passionate about mental health and wellbeing, Matilda plans to study a Bachelor of Criminology/Bachelor of Psychological Science at Deakin University. She aspires to support teenagers and adults in rural areas, ensuring they have access to the mental health resources they need to thrive.

Molly has represented her school at various community events such as ANZAC ceremonies, Girls in STEM programs, and student information evenings, always advocating for inclusivity and pride within her school community.
In addition to her leadership skills, Molly has demonstrated remarkable academic excellence, receiving the Principal’s Award, Academic Dux of Year 11, and top scores in subjects such as History Revolutions, as well as distinctions in debating and essay competitions.
Molly is passionate about advocating for the voices of lower-socioeconomic and rural communities while pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at Melbourne University in 2025.
She is committed to returning to regional Victoria, where she envisions herself working in libraries, archives, or universities, furthering her belief that educated people from the regions should play a key role in shaping local and state cultures.

Safhira has demonstrated exceptional commitment to youth leadership. She served as a member of the Central Goldfields Shire Youth Council from July 2022 to July 2023, before stepping up as Youth Mayor from July 2023 to December 2023. In 2023, Safhira also participated in the Rural Youth Ambassadors program, run by the Country Education Partnership (CEP).
Safhira’s academic excellence and dedication to science were recognised with the Robert (Bob) Osborne (OAM) Memorial Scholarship, awarded to later-year students who demonstrate a strong work ethic, involvement in science, and significant contributions to their school or local community.
Looking to the future, Safhira is committed to using her leadership and advocacy skills to drive climate action and develop sustainable solutions for regional Victoria. In 2025, Safhira will be studying a double degree Bachelor of Engineering (Computer and Network) Honours and Bachelor of Computer Science at RMIT.
With a strong passion for environmental sustainability, she hopes to address local environmental and community challenges, ensuring a more resilient and sustainable future for rural areas.

Stella was awarded the Endeavour Award in Year 9 for her hard work and perseverance across all her classes, and in 2023, Stella also received the VET Hospitality Award for her outstanding contributions to the hospitality program.
Looking ahead, Stella is driven by a strong desire to give back to regional Victoria by pursuing a career in Occupational Therapy, once she graduates from her bachelor’s degree from Deakin University.
She aims to work in schools and clinics across the state, particularly focusing on supporting children with disabilities and those facing disadvantages. Stella believes in offering a holistic approach to health that encourages lifelong success.
She is particularly passionate about returning to rural areas, where there is a lack of paediatric occupational therapists, to ensure that all children, regardless of location, can access the support they need to thrive in social, family, and school settings.

Her leadership journey began early, starting as School Captain and President of the Junior School Council at Pomonal Primary School in 2018. She continued to build on this foundation throughout her school years, taking on significant leadership roles at Stawell Secondary College, including Vice President of the Leadership Team, House Captain, and Bus Captain.
Tayla’s dedication to her studies has earned her numerous accolades, including the Year 12 Subject Award for General Mathematics, and the Grampians Health Stawell Award for Biology. She was also awarded the Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Award in Year 10, the Ararat Rural City Council Scholarship and Lions Club Scholarship.
Outside of school, Tayla was nominated as Vice-Captain of the Under 18s Moyston Willaura Netball Club and is a member of the Pomonal CFA.
Tayla will be studying Bachelor of Biomedical Science at Deakin University in 2025. Looking to the future, Tayla plans to return to the Grampians region after completing her studies and contribute to the local community by applying her skills and knowledge in the medical field.

Her leadership journey began through her role as team leader at her current job, where she has become a role model for young girls and learned the true meaning of compassion and mentorship.
Tillie’s passion for helping others was further demonstrated during her work placement for her Certificate III in Allied Health Assistance. In this role, she helped design activities and learning resources for children with disabilities, working as part of a team to provide meaningful support.
Tillie’s academic achievements include receiving the Highest Academic Award in Health and the Community in 2022, as well as the Highest Academic Award in Health and Human Development in 2023.
Tillie is undertaking Nursing and Paramedicine at Australian Catholic University in 2025. With a dream to become a paramedic or paediatric nurse, Tillie is deeply committed to addressing the healthcare gaps in regional Victoria, particularly the lack of paramedics and long wait times for medical assistance.
Her goal is to help reduce these issues and improve healthcare access for those in need. She also aspires to work with youth groups in the region, giving back to the community that has supported her, and inspiring young people to pursue their dreams despite challenges.

A passionate athlete, Ali has played soccer for Mildura United Soccer Club for eight years, earning multiple accolades, including the Most Valuable Player and Best and Fairest awards. He also took on a leadership role as a coach for the club’s under-12 and under-16 teams, fostering inclusivity and skill development among younger players. Beyond soccer, Ali has contributed to his community through volunteering at the local Park Run and supporting newly arrived families through the Sunraysia Mallee Ethnic Communities Council.
Ali is studying a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at RMIT University in 2025. Motivated by his firsthand experience with the healthcare challenges in Mildura, he aspires to return as a doctor to improve medical services and address the shortage of healthcare professionals in his hometown. With his multilingual skills and deep community ties, Ali hopes to make healthcare more accessible for all.

Jae has been a volunteer lifesaver at the Mildura Life Saving Club (MLSC) since the age of 14. Her impressive contributions include a record 150 patrol hours in 2022 and roles as junior club captain, committee member, and Water Safety Officer.
Through lifesaving, Jae has earned numerous qualifications and awards. In 2022 she was awarded Life Saving Victoria’s Rescue of the Year and was a Junior Life Saver of the Year Finalist.
Jae served as School Captain of Trinity Lutheran College in 2022 and was an active Student Representative Council member. She has also demonstrated excellence in academics, receiving the Monash Rural Health Award, the Ampol Best All-Rounder Award, and multiple subject Dux awards in Fine Arts and Health & Human Development.
With a strong passion for healthcare, Jae is pursuing a Bachelor of Biomedical Science at La Trobe University Bendigo, with a goal to return to Mildura (or a similar rural area) to help address the shortage of healthcare professionals in regional Victoria. Growing up in a rural community, Jae understands the challenges of healthcare access, limited services, and the need for dedicated medical professionals. Her long-term goal is to provide quality healthcare while continuing her commitment to lifesaving and community service.

Mohammad has excelled in academics and sport, earning multiple MVP and Best & Fairest awards, as well as securing a place in the highly competitive Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) program.
His passion for leadership has been evident from a young age, holding roles such as House Captain, Sustainability Ambassador, and Student Representative Council member at school.
Mohammad’s journey has been shaped by both his early life in Afghanistan and his experiences growing up in Mildura, where he has witnessed firsthand the critical shortage of healthcare professionals. A four-year wait for a dental check-up in his hometown reinforced his determination to pursue a Bachelor of Pharmacy at La Trobe University in Bendigo, with the goal of returning to Mildura to provide essential care and advocate for better health services in rural Victoria.
Through his education and future profession, Mohammad aspires to bridge the gap in healthcare access for regional communities, ensuring that no one is deprived of quality medical care due to their location. This scholarship will support him as he works toward his dream of making a lasting impact on the well-being of rural Victorians.

Jake will be studying a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering at Deakin University and wishes to utilise his degree to make a meaningful impact on his rural community.
With a keen focus on addressing challenges related to water access and sanitation, especially during times of drought, Jake envisions contributing to sustainable solutions that enhance the well-being of those around him.

An exemplary leader, Kady served as the school captain, where her responsibilities included hosting school tours, participating in board meetings, and organising events such as the talent show.
Her dedication to academic excellence is evident through her consecutive receipt of the “Academic Excellence Award” for two years running, as well as her recognition with the “Science Learning Area Award.” Additionally, Kady secured second place in the prestigious “Dreamtime Stories Writing Competition” organised by Goulburn Valley Water.
Beyond her scholastic achievements, Kady finds joy in activities such as painting, baking, and practicing yoga during her leisure time. Driven by a desire to reconnect with her Wiradjuri heritage, Kady is committed to deepening her cultural understanding and aims to share her knowledge with others.
The Bachelor of Science Dentistry that Kady is undertaking has a focus on health needs, policy and service, and will allow her to undergo placement in regional clinics. She plans on becoming a rural dentist and practise in Bendigo or Shepparton.

In 2018, Floss was honoured with an Arts Scholarship, providing them with a platform to immerse themselves in their passion for art throughout their high school years.
Looking forward, Floss aspires to further their artistic journey by pursuing a Bachelor of Arts at RMIT.
With a focus on education and meaningful conversation, Floss envisions creating services that resonate with rural youth, utilising their artistic and creative talents to cultivate and enhance youth engagement.

Providing support for her family in a variety of ways, Ariel has become extremely resilient in the face of adversity. Ariel will be the first in her family to attend university and will begin studying a Bachelor of Arts in Melbourne in 2024.
Ariel would like to continue her studies and complete a Postgraduate degree in teaching, bringing her love for music back to the Albury/Wodonga region. Inspired by her own music teacher, Ariel wants to give that kind of support to other young people from the regions.

Xander Gragasin grew up in Stawell and attended the local secondary school. Xander has received awards in sport and athletics, as well as receiving a place in the Kwong Lee Dow’s Young Scholars Program. In 2023, Xander was offered a place in a first-year university course at Latrobe University through CHES, giving him the chance to experience university study.
Xander is a born performer, playing music in local community centres around Victoria and the Phillipines. Xander is also a lover of sport, participating in local running clubs, and kickboxing classes. Xander aspires to complete a Bachelor of Criminology, with the goal of returning to rural Victoria to provide affordable legal services in his area. |

He has been recognised through various awards including the Southern Grampians Youth Achievement award; Lions Club Citizenship and Service Award; and the Australian Defence Force, Long Tan Youth Leadership and Teamwork Award.
Joseph is studying a Bachelor of Education at university with the goal to contribute back to regional and rural Victoria through his leadership as an educator. He also hopes to coach Aussie rules and basketball in the regions.

Katherine is heavily involved in her community. She volunteers with Girl Guides Australia as a unit leader; and Country Women’s Association where she has been a member since she was seven years old. In 2018 she received the Greater Shepparton City Council’s Young Citizen of the Year Award for her outstanding leadership responsibility and fundraising efforts.
Katherine has also received the Fred Hollows Humanitarian Award, Carer’s Victoria Young Carer Award, and many awards within her Girl Guides unit for leadership and personal development.
Katherine is undertaking a Double Degree in Law & Global Studies at Monash University. Looking to the future, Katherine plans to use everything she has learned as a leader and through tertiary studies within the regional community. She wants to create strong and influential relationships with the people in her community who matter most.

In 2024, Will is undertaking a Bachelor of Science at Monash University. He wants to utilise the skills gained from a degree to come back into the regions to assist as a healthcare professional, improving rural healthcare in Victoria.

Kayla has received awards for her academic performance, including several Academic Excellence Awards, the Sandy Shively Memorial Art Award, Kwong Lee Dow Young Scholars Program, ADF Future Innovators Award, and a Watersure Scholarship.
Kayla is very connected to her hometown of Pioneer Bay and wants to give back to her rural community in the future. In 2024 she is pursuing a science degree which she feels is a less represented pathway in regional and rural Victoria.

Milla in quite the all-rounder, having received Lions Club Youth of the Year for public speaking in 2022, as well as awards and recognition in debating, film and sport.
In 2024, Milla is undertaking Bachelor of Laws (Honours) at La Trobe University. Looking to the future, Milla aspires to provide legal representation for rural and regional Victorians and their communities, and believes that someone’s postcode, education level or cultural background shouldn’t present a barrier to receiving fair and equal justice.

Molly is fantastic leader and received the ADF Long Tan Youth Leadership Award and Teamwork Award in recognition her demonstrated leadership within her school and local community.
Molly aspires to utilise her studies in Occupational Therapy to create a healthier and happier community in the regional towns she services at the end of her degree. Using the skills gained in her degree, Molly wants to organise sport events and health and wellness workshops for regional and rural Victorian towns.

Tiahna Friend is an exceptional community leader, with a passion for developing skills in the young people she works with. Additionally, Tiahna has proven her commitment to her studies, approaching them with a consistent work ethic, enthusiasm and a positive attitude, which has seen her excel academically.
While Tiahna has loved her rural education, she acknowledges the disparity of education opportunities between the country and city. Now having completed VCE, and the rural chapter of her education, Tiahna intends to study a Bachelor of Nursing. |

Angelina was a highly regarded student leader within her school and balanced her schooling with part-time work and involvement within the music and performance scene in the local community. In Year 10 Angelina was chosen to be one of the leaders of multicultural inclusion. She was also House Vice Captain and House Captain. She is a duty manager at work and was a strong contributor at our recent Young Rural Leaders program.
Now having completed VCE, Angelina has enrolled in a Bachelor of Science and her goal is to become a doctor. Angelina, intends to return to a regional area to give back to the community. With her consistent involvement within the community, Angelina sees the need for highly trained and community minded individuals to provide a broad ranging support in the medical field in a regional area. She is keen to contribute to a rural community in a practical way and through supporting local businesses, events and organisations.
