On January 19th, my team of 10 dedicated alumni coaches and I had the privilege of welcoming 30 enthusiastic participants to the 2025 Young Rural Leaders Program in Anglesea. Set against the stunning coastal backdrop, the program provided a unique opportunity for young leaders to develop essential skills, build confidence, and strengthen their connections within rural communities.

This year’s program focused on five key themes: Sustainable Me, Engaging Community, Connection with Place, Leadership Enhancement, and Future Planning. Through a carefully curated mix of hands-on activities, theoretical learning, and reflective discussions, we aimed to equip participants with the tools and insights needed to become impactful leaders. The immersive experience encouraged them to step outside their comfort zones, collaborate with like-minded peers, and explore their potential in a supportive and inspiring environment.
