2020 University Scholar – Emily Brown

You are here:

Emily Brown is one of our very deserving 2020 University Scholars. Creative, inspiring and a devoted community leader, Emily has a passion for rural and regional communities and an ambition to support young people to overcome disadvantage.

Emily has held many school leadership roles and been an active participant in the RACV Energy Breakthrough, the Aboriginal Dance Academy, the Nexus Youth Theatre and Bendigo Youth Theatre productions, as well as a member of cultural exposure trips to the Northern Territory, Indonesia and Samoa.

It is these community activities that inspire Emily to continue to support the culture and vitality of rural communities and empower the people who live there.

Now having completed VCE, Emily is commencing tertiary study at Box Hill Institute, undertaking a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care to be followed by a degree in either early childhood education or acting. We look forward to supporting her as a Youthrive Victoria scholar and we are certain whatever path Emily decides to take, she is going to make a positive impact and create and nurture opportunities for rural children and families.
