10 Year Leadership Celebration – 8th Dec, 2022

You are here:

In early December, we invited past and present supporters and alumni of Youthrive Victoria to join us in celebrating 10 years of The Young Rural Leaders Program.

We were delighted to have alumni from 2012- 2022 camps in attendance at the weekend event held at Narmbool – a property on Wadawurrung Country outside Ballarat, which is the ongoing location of our Young Rural Leaders Camp.

The program offered a variety of activities for both past and present alumni including committee elections and volunteer opportunities; managing challenges and building resilience in a post COVID19 climate; creating, reflecting and sharing experiences; and looking forward in planning for the future in supporting young rural people through the Rural Youth Network and Youthrive Victoria Programs. On the Sunday, we enjoyed some relaxing down time with a walk and Dadirri (indigenous deep listening) in the beautiful Narmbool garden and a formal celebration lunch with directors, supporters and special guests, including Simon Napthine, Head of Narmbool.

Thank you to our Associate Directors Jacob Chacko and Nick Young, for zooming in to talk about the alumni and future connections and opportunities for the Rural Youth Network and Scholarship Programs. We also extend our thanks to Directors Mandy Hutchinson and Bruce Anderson for their contributions regarding future campaigning, fundraising, philanthropy, and donor contributions.

Thank you to all who have supported Youthrive Victoria’s Young Rural Leaders Program over the past 10 years – it has been an incredible journey and we look forward to delivering this life changing program to young rural Victorians for years to come.
