Youthrive Victoria at the Speaker’s Breakfast at Parliament House
On November 27th, Youthrive Victoria staff, supporters, Board members, and alumni gathered at Parliament House, hosted by the Hon. Maree Edwards MP, as part of the Speaker’s Breakfast series.
This initiative, created by the Speaker herself, offers a unique platform for community organisations to showcase their work and engage directly with Members of Parliament. It was a wonderful opportunity for Youthrive Victoria to share our vision and impact with policymakers and other stakeholders.
Several of our alumni and scholars shared personal stories about their journeys through Youthrive Victoria’s programs, highlighting how these experiences have shaped their post-secondary pathways and future aspirations.
Our CEO, Andrew McGuckian, and Board Chair, Bruce Anderson, also presented on Youthrive Victoria’s holistic “wrap-around care” model and our aspiration programs like Branch Out Mentoring, which continue to empower young rural Victorians.
The morning was filled with inspiring conversations and underscored the importance of building connections between rural communities and decision-makers. We extend our gratitude to the Hon. Maree Edwards MP for her hospitality, and for creating this platform to amplify the voices of rural youth.
